Before the city wakes up, many construction workers are already preparing for the day. Their work is physically demanding, often under sun, rain, or difficult conditions.
A typical day may begin early. Workers travel to sites, check safety equipment, and prepare for the tasks ahead. From lifting materials to operating machinery, every task requires focus and strength.
Despite the hard work, construction workers take pride in what they build. Roads, homes, hospitals, and schools all exist because of their labour.
However, many construction workers also face challenges such as:
- Low job security
- Long working hours
- Safety risks
- Limited access to benefits
- Physical exhaustion
Their stories remind us that behind every building and infrastructure project, there are real people working hard to support their families.
Labour and Life exists to share these stories and bring attention to the people who build our world.
